"Antioxidant Supply" What are the requirements for an ideal antioxidant?
Update:1660141121

Antioxidants are a class of chemicals that, when only a small amount of them are present in the polymer system, can delay or inhibit the process of polymer oxidation, so as to prevent the aging of the polymer and extend its service life, also known as "anti-aging agents".

First, the role of antioxidants:

In each stage of the polymer life cycle, that is, its survival, storage, processing, use process, will be due to its own or external factors and oxidation, resulting in the degradation or loss of polymer and its products properties. This is also known as the aging of polymer materials. Adding antioxidant is an effective means to delay the aging of materials. Antioxidant is a kind of chemical auxiliaries which can inhibit and delay the oxidation and degradation of polymer materials. Its action mechanism is complex, and its main effects are as follows:

1. Block the polarity of the degradation chain reaction

2. Decompose hydroperoxides. According to this mechanism, it can be divided into chain terminator, peroxide decomposition agent and metal passivation agent. Among them, the chain terminator is also traditionally known as the main antioxidant, peroxide decomposition agent is known as the auxiliary antioxidant. According to the structure can be divided into blocked phenols, amines, phosphite esters, thioesters and other classes.

Two, the ideal antioxidant should meet the following requirements:

1, high antioxidant degradation efficiency.

2. Good compatibility with basic materials.

3. It has no adverse effect on the basic physical and mechanical properties of products.

4, high thermal stability, good heat resistance.

5. Small volatility, moderate diffusion and migration, good solvent extraction resistance.

6, do not have adverse reactions with other additives.

7, non-toxic, no stimulation to the human body, no odor, small pollution.

8. Cheap and easy to get
